If you know the SmartJob™ whose Task/s you would like to split, you can search using either Global or Gantt Search. (see Global SearchGantt Search articles)


1. Using Global Search find the SmartJob whose task/s you would like to split. Or you can select the task from the Gantt.

a. And click on that SmartJob.



2. This will open the details dialog for that SmartJob

a. Click on the “Split” button


3. This will open the Split Wizard for that SmartJob

a. To avoid duplication of effort for splitting multiple tasks you can check the box if all tasks will use the same selections for split and time segments

b. You will then select which task/s to split

c. The number of splits you would like the task/s to split into

d. And whether you want to split all time segments of that task/s. This is important if you have both time and quantity time segments in a task.

e. Click on “Next”


4. This step is to fine tune the quantities

a. The new names of the tasks will be presented

b. And you will have to make sure the quantity for each is appropriate.

c. You cannot exceed the total quantity for this task.

d. Click on “Next”


5. Finally, you will arrive at the resource assignment screen

a. You will need to define whether to use the current settings

b. Or to use “Auto” matching for the splits

c. And you can then click on the “Finish” button to complete this effort. A calculation will be required to schedule the newly created split/s.
