If a resource breaks down while working on a task, there are a few different paths to take for an immediate action of Resource Down.


1. The Execution screen is found under the Schedule menu item

    a.    An operator working in the Execution screen can access the Resource Down dialog by clicking on the ellipsis next to the task they are working on

    b.    Which can then be expands to show the Resource Down icon

2. You can also navigate to Maintenance > Resources


3. The left side of the screen shows all classes that have been added to the nMetric solution


4. Select the class of the resource to be taken down

    a. And click on the resource to be taken down


5. This brings up the General details tab of this resource

    a. And then you can click on the Resource Down button


6. You can also navigate to the Resource View of the Gantt

    a. And click on the resource to be taken down which also brings you to the General details tab of the resource. And you then click on the Resource Down button


7. Once the Resource Down dialog appears

    a. Select an estimated down time in hours

    b. Select a reason, or reasons

    c. Add any appropriate Notes

    d. Click on the Resource Down button


8. Once a true appraisal of how long the repair will take is made you can then revise the Resource Down event by navigating to Maintenance > Resources. Select the Class for the resource previously taken down

    a. Click on the Resource


9. Select the Available Profiles tab

    a. Select the Resource Events tab which shows all the profiles specific to this resource

    b. Click on the edit pencil icon for the event you wish to revise


10. This opens up the event dialog

    a. You can now revise the end time to extend or reduce the expected time the resource will be unavailable.


11.    Or from the previous screen you can just delete the event by clicking on the “red X” icon
