nVironment™ displays the daily utilization of resources in a bar chart form across the schedule horizon from current day. The bar chart has the percent utilization on the left (y-axis) and the time periods on bottom (x-axis). Once the bar chart loads you can then zoom in and back out via the mouse scroll wheel and can “drag” the bar chart to a specific time period. We have also provided the ability to filter for specific resources and for a specific time period within the horizon.
1. On the Home screen you will see the nVironment™ widget and can toggle:
a. from “Most” utilized to “Least” utilized
b. and from this “week” to this “month”
Click on the widget to bring up details
2. The nVironment™ screen loads with defaults of:
a. Most-utilized for all resources and the horizon set for the last scheduled task, limited to a year out
b. You can then zoom in and out by placing your cursor within any resource’s bar chart. And if you use the “Sync charts” checkbox all bar charts will zoom in and out in concert.
c. You can also drill into any resource’s details by clicking on the icon.
d. You can also filter by clicking on the “header”
3. This opens a screen used for filtering:
a. By date range, remember it will only load to the last scheduled task
b. Selecting specific resources. Default is all resources with no check marks.
c. And you can show “All Items”, or only those currently “Selected”
d. Sorting by least or most utilized
e. Or viewing by resources, or resource classes
f. And provides a legend for the bar ranges
Once your selections are made you click off the filter screen and the results load.
4. If you click “View by” Resource Class
5. A Sunburst chart appears
a. whose inner ring shows the resource class with utilization in time from inner as the earliest time
b. And out ring shows the resources within that class with utilization in time from inner as the earliest time
